  • Time to complete program and bachelor’s degree: This program can be completed in 21 months to earn your bachelor’s degree. 300/400 level courses. Year 1 is Monday – Thursday and Year 2 is Monday - Friday.

 PROGRAM DETAILS: BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN RADIOGRAPHY

As a radiographer, you will use imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic images of the human body, to help doctors develop accurate diagnoses. The Bachelor of Science in Radiography program at 91ÖÆƬ³§ will prepare you to build a foundation of knowledge and skills to work with patients and others in the medical profession, as well as operate scanning equipment.

At 91ÖÆƬ³§ you will learn theory in the classroom, and application of concepts and skills in the simulation lab at our Oak Brook site and in clinical settings. The program uses the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) radiography curriculum plan.

Upon completion of the program you will be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) credentialing examination. In addition to the ARRT, students will be eligible to apply for state licensure which is a State of Illinois requirement as a condition of employment.

Graduation Requirements

To graduate with a degree in radiology, students must meet the following requirements:

  • File the Intent to Graduate Form by the designated deadline.
  • Have official final transcripts of any previous colleges attended on file in the Registrar’s Office.
  • Complete the credit hours designated in the curriculum as relevant to the individual’s program.
  • Complete the residency requirements.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
  • Complete the preparatory pre-licensure (State of Illinois) ARRT certification requirements.
  • Complete payment of all fees and tuition owed to the University and return all library items.

Admission into the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) program requires that a student have:

  • Earned a minimum cumulative college grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Successfully complete TEAS Exam (minimum score of 60% required overall as well as a score of 60% in the Science section)
  • Held in good standing at previous colleges and universities attended

Transfer Students should submit official transcripts from each college/university the student has previously attended. Evaluation of transfer credit is based on the following criteria:

  • Credits transfer from schools accredited by The Higher Learning Commission or another regional accrediting association.
  • A maximum of four credit hours will transfer in physical education activity courses.
  • “D” grades will not be accepted as transfer credit.
  • A maximum of 72 semester hours of community college credits (or credits from a two-year school) may be accepted at the time of admission. Additional community college credits may be accepted if included in a 91ÖÆƬ³§ articulation or consortium agreement.
  • An unlimited number of hours will be accepted from upper division/senior institutions as long as 32 hours, including 12 hours of upper-division major courses and six hours of Mission-based courses, are completed at Lewis.
  • Developmental and or remedial courses completed at another institution are not transferable.
  • Course grades do not transfer.

Certified Radiography Technologists
If you already have an ARRT certification, you can complete your Bachelor of Science in Radiography degree.
In addition to an education geared toward a successful career in Radiography, students are educated in a variety of courses with an emphasis on the most current demands and modern quality expectations of healthcare facilities and staff.

The program is 100% online, which provides flexibility for you to complete the weekly assignments on your own schedule. Students are taught by experienced faculty who have a vast array of knowledge and experience in the field.

Admission Criteria for the Bachelor’s Degree Completion Program
To be competitive, the following criteria should be met: A cumulative GPA of 2.00. Must be in good standing with all prior colleges and universities attended. The core Radiography completion courses must be taken at 91ÖÆƬ³§ for a total of 23 credit hours, along with 9 mission credit hours for a total of 32 credit hours. Degree completion is dependent on your transcript history.
